Demi Deng

Demi Deng is a Ph.D. candidate in the School of Hospitality Business Management. She has taught undergraduate-level courses in hospitality management, operational analysis, and beverage management over the last few years. Her research focuses on wine and beverage management, restaurant management, and hospitality management research. Before enrolling in the Ph.D. program at Washington State University, she had worked as a Sommelier and F&B outlet manager in various luxury hotels in New Zealand and China. During the industry working period, she earned several beverage-related professional credentials such as a Sommelier certificate from the Court of Master Sommeliers, an advanced certificate from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET), a certified barista from New Zeland, and a certificate of tea professional from Wedgewood. Her international hospitality operational background and knowledge in F&B shaped her teaching styles and research scope from a global hospitality leader’s lens.
