Joan Halsey (’89 Business, ’12 Ed. M.) is the Online Faculty Coordinator in Online and Graduate Programs. She is responsible for coordinating the hiring and training of section instructors for courses in the online MBA, as well as the communication that goes out to instructors to make sure everyone is aware of deadlines and processes for each course. She also acts as the Contract Manager and is the supervisor of the Fiscal Specialist for the department. Joan has been at WSU for over 12 years. She served 4 years in Extension and 4 years as the Conference Coordinator in Entomology for the Pesticide Safety Education Program. Before coming to the Carson College, she was the ASWSU Program Coordinator for Student Involvement for 6 years where received an “Outstanding Staff Member Award” from the Inaugural ASWSU Faculty and Staff Appreciation Awards in May 2014. Prior to WSU, Joan gained experience in the fields of travel, health insurance and retail store management. Joan is currently serving as the Palouse Chapter President of the WSU Alumni Association. She has also recently served as a First Scholar’s Mentor and the judge’s chair for Distinguished Young Women of Colton & Uniontown.
