Leah Sheppard

Dr. Sheppard is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management, Information Systems, and Entrepreneurship, and an Associate Dean for Equity and Inclusion for the Carson College of Business. She currently teaches Negotiation Skills (MGMT 485) and the Organizational Behavior Doctoral Seminar (MGMT 599). Her primary research stream focuses on gender and gender stereotyping and how these shape individuals' workplace experiences and career outcomes. She is also interested in employees' experiences of phenomena generally treated as taboo when they appear in organizational settings, such as sexual behavior, physical attractiveness biases, non-work identity disclosures, and discussions about politics.<br><br>Dr. Sheppard has published in outlets such as Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management, and The Atlantic. Her research has also been featured in several news outlets, including The New York Times, The Huffington Post, CBS News, New York Magazine, and The Wall Street Journal.
