Scott Bergstedt

Scott finished U of I law school in 1981 and opened his own law practice shortly there after. He also worked as a deputy prosecutor, public defender, and trial attorney. He was appointed as a part time municipal judge in 1985 and continued as a judge until 2012. He has taken on many different cases from Felony Criminal to Intellectual property, contracts, real estate and accident cases. He began teaching at WSU as an adjunct professor in 2001 and has taught both on-line and face-to-face classes. He retired from judging and closed his law practice in 2012. After moving to Seattle area he continued teaching on-line with WSU and judging as a Pro-Tem in King County. He also worked with the Traffic Safety Commission to help set up treatment courts throughout the state of Washington. In 2020 he retired from judging and setting up treatment courts and continued with teaching.
