Demi Deng is a Ph.D. Candidate in Hospitality Business Management at Washington State University (WSU), Pullman, Washington. Her research interests are in F&B, wine and beverage, restaurant management, and hospitality management. Before stepping into academia, Demi was an experienced professional in the hospitality industry, with expertise in food and beverage operations, wine and beverage service, and restaurant management. She has held various positions in luxury hotels, including a Corporate Management Trainee, Sommelier, and F&B Outlets Manager. Demi is also a certified sommelier, barista, and tea professional. Her industry experience shaped her teaching technique, trying to guide students to learn and think critically as a global hospitality leader. She has taught five distinctive undergraduate courses and received decent evaluations from students.
